As an event supplier, 2021 is following the pattern of 2020 with a distinct lack of bookings due to Covid! However, I’ve teamed up with two other local event suppliers to bring to you the Mother’s Day afternoon tea package, delivered to your door. The package includes home made afternoon tea by The Mug Tree; a café and caterer in East Grinstead, beautiful vintage crockery, cutlery and napkins by myself and gorgeous hand wrapped spring florals by Arabella Floral Design, who like myself would normally be suppling weddings and events.

NATIONAL AFTERNOON TEA WEEK
Did you know that 12th-18th August is National Afternoon Tea Week? Being a huge fan of all things afternoon tea, I’ve put together a round-up of my favourite local venues specialising in luxury afternoon tea. As I live in East Grinstead I’ve focused on the mid-Sussex region (as there are far too many to list in the South of England). These venues are ideal if you are planning a special occasion, but as it’s National Afternoon Tea Week, I think you should just use that as a good excuse to enjoy time with family or friends.
Eco-Friendly Summer Entertaining Hire Packages
Exciting news – I’ve teamed up with Locate to Create to offer the ultimate in eco-friendly, summer entertaining event hire packages. From summer garden parties to corporate events, we urge you not to use ugly plastic tables, single use disposables or mass produced cheap tableware form half way around the world and to take a look at our hire packages.
I’ve been to quite a few afternoon tea baby showers over the past few years, two of my own and others for friends. I really do believe afternoon tea is the best way to celebrate. I don’t think I’ve ever met a single person who doesn’t like afternoon tea and when you are pregnant it’s far more appealing than going to a hot spa or crowded bar. So what is it that’s so perfect about afternoon tea when it comes to baby showers… well, where do I start; a relaxed gathering of your closest friends who have come to join you in spending the afternoon eating cake and drinking copious amounts of tea! Here are my top tips when planning a baby shower afternoon tea celebration.
Last summer I was invited by the talented Lily Sawyer to supply a styled shoot in West Ham Park, London. Lily is a fantastic urban wedding photographer who has such an eye for detail and a wonderfully creative mind. The styled shoot was based on Modern Vintage with white simplicity and a relaxed urban garden setting, while being affordable. Lilly put together the perfect team for this style and the full write up can be seen over on Lilly’s blog Lily Sawyer Blog.
As the count down to the royal wedding is in full action, here at Vintage Flair we’re wondering if Meghan is planning her second hen – or should we say Bachelorette party! There has been a rise in brides-to-be hosting two hen parties in order to involve all the female wedding guests. 10 years ago hen parties were a night out with friends and family, for a meal and possibly onto a nightclub. Over the years they’ve become more elaborate and have evolved into weekends abroad and spa trips. As hen parties have become more expensive and often just for close friends and family, there has become a need for a second hen party. This is usually closer to the wedding date and suitable for all ages and a wider family audience.
As a supplier of tea parties, I receive tonnes of emails regarding charity events and it can be hard to choose which ones to support. However, when I received a call from the Stand Up To Cancer team I knew this would be a great one to help, especially when they mentioned it was in collaboration with Louise Pentland (A Sprinkle of Glitter).

We receive numerous requests to supply wedding industry photo shoots and this made us realise it was about time we did our own! It didn’t take long to decide on the theme as Easter was just around the corner and our own gardens were beginning to spring to life. Easter Vintage Glamour was decided upon – with a focus on gold and Chanel pink; Elizabeth’s favourite lipstick! A list of our favourite Essex suppliers was then drafted and ideas began to pile up on Pinterest. Read more
